Summary

Aerosol exposure by inhalation is of greatinterest in occupational health, as it represents amajor potential source of hazard for workers in manyindustrial environments. Workers' inhaled doseassessment is far from being routinely performed inmany workplaces. The aim of this study is toinvestigate the effect of hygroscopicity of specificaerosol species on the workers' inhaled dose. For thispurpose the airborne particulate matter concentrationand the distribution of health-relevant chemicalspecies that are released in an industrial workplacewere measured
