Summary

In this study we describe the wind wave fields. The general aims of the work are the estimation of statistical wave parameters and the assessment of interannual and seasonal wave parameter variability. Wave parameters will be calculated bymeans of the SWAN wave model on a relatively fine rectangular grid. Initial conditions (wind speed and direction) for a historical period will be derived from the NCEP/NCAR reanalysis.
